Dedicated to the memory of Suzanne Stones

This site is a tribute to a loving Wife of Colin; Mother to Joanne, Matthew and Nick; Grandmother; Sister and Aunt - Suzanne Stones, who was born in Bolton on November 16, 1951.

Suzanne spent most of her working life at the post office, she always had a love of stamps and coins. She later worked in the reception of St Stephens and all martyrs primary school - where her children went to school. Here she put her financial and organizational skills to daily use. She was a keen member of the church, involved in flower arranging for events, making the retinue dresses for when Joanne was the rose queen.

Suzanne was a selfless mother. Times haven't always been easy, Suzanne always held the family together. One might say solid as a stone in this regard. Always acting as a guide to whomever needed council or aid. She always provided that signature motherly quality that we will remember so fondly.

Suzanne was very proud of us all for our individual traits and accomplishments. She loved being a mum. As we look back at family photos, it is clear as daylight to see. If she was holding a baby you could see the motherly nature flow out of her.

Family time are some of our fondest memories that we have with her. Whether that was sitting at the table for a family meal (cottage pie) or playing the Stones signature card game Contract Whist. There are photos going back to the 80's of the family sitting at the table, with the pad of paper and a deck of cards ready to teach us how to play as babies. We still play as a family today, and pass through to the next generations.

Suzanne was always consistent at this game, always scoring highly. Then again anything she put her mind to she would consume to the best of her ability. Looking at her creativity over the years, you can see how throughout the years she was always doing something she loved. Whether that was her cross stitching, flower arranging, card making, quilting, painting or any other of her many crafting loves, even Lego building in recent years... her mind was always engaged. She was instrumental in the organisation of Joanne's wedding to Gavin, creating all the invitations by hand, arranging the flowers, she was so helpful.

We like knowing in the years of her retirement, she spent her time doing these activities to her heart's content.

On behalf of the whole family we want to thank you for paying your respects.
